In an attempt to combat car exhaust emissions and pollution the Union Budget may propose India’s first vehicle scrapping policy to get old polluting vehicles banned in the country.
Vijay Chibber, who retired as secretary, Ministry of road transport and Highways further said that ‘ That thought has been shared with the Finance ministry. There is a possibility that it may get considered for the budget. It will pave the way for this policy to come up.”
Even World Health Organization has ranked Delhi’s air as world’s dirtiest air. Develop countries like US , Japan and Europe has already introduced the scheme.
