The statements of the CM coming days after his deputy Manish Sisodia wrote to former Minister of Human Resources Development Smriti Irani suggesting that the Delhi students must take precedence over those of other states in securing admissions to depleted uranium, one of the most sought after universities in India.

Sisodia, who is also Education Minister of Delhi, had suggested that an entrance test to replace the cutting method for enrollment of students in DU.

BJP Rajya Sabha MP Vijay Goel, who was recently elevated to Cabinet in the central government, has also been demanding preference for city students in the admissions process at the University of Delhi for a long time.

Last month, Goel had known Sisodia and demanded 85 percent quota reserved for students in 28 schools Delhi, funded by the Delhi government, a total of 61 colleges of Delhi University.

Meanwhile, the admission process in Delhi University is in full swing in which students across the country are trying to get themselves enrolled in prestigious institutions varsity.

While the seats for some courses at universities around DU are full, there are still places in many popular courses such as B. Com (Hons) and Economics available.
