Supreme Court will hear plea on ‘Sardar Jokes’ on April 5th
Recently a petition was submitted by Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee along with other petitions seeking the ban on the jokes that are being circulated about the Sikh community and today Supreme Court agreed to hear their plea to ban Sardar jokes.
According to a report, a bench comprising of Chief Justice TS Thakur and UU Lalit has said that a fresh plea of SGPC would be taken into the consideration along with the all other pending matters and would be heard together on April 5th.
The bench said that they will some orders and will look into the matter if the entire community is feeling harassed and is being commercially exploited.
As per a report, there are over 5,000 websites which displayed jokes on Sikh community and PIL had also reported about the same.
