According to reports, it has been confirmed that Rahul Gandhi will become the president of Congress Party. On Friday, Sonia Gandhi broke her silence on her son’s proposed elevation in the party and said, “Rahul Gandhi will be party president soon.”

Notably, the party strategists are trying to highlight his “humble man” and “Friend of Poor” image to the nation against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Pro- industrialist image.
As per reports, he is expected to take over as Party president after Diwali. His recent visit to Gujarat has boosted his image and that’s why it is the right time for him to take over as party president, as per reports.
The recent tweet on his twitter handle is a poem pointing out hunger and a report on how India had come down in the Global Hunger Index.
As per congress sources, the members of the party’s Central Election Authority which is overseeing the process of electing the next party president, are expected to meet Rahul Gandhi in a day or so regarding the same. Notably, the elevation of Rahul Gandhi has been in works for a long time. Now, party leaders are saying that the time has finally come. He was appointed as Party’s vice president in 2013, and his elevation is expected to come before crucial Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh polls, where Congress is facing tough challenge from the BJP party.
