People are using social media platforms with the hashtag ‘boycott jio’ trend they are upset with the telecom giants, X, formerly known as twitter.
This protest has been brought about by a harmonized raise in prices by telecommunications behemoths namely; Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel Ltd, and Vodafone idea Limited. The steep rise in data packs majorly limited the access of internet affecting both prepaid as well as postpaid users all across the world. These affect the price of its commodities, the variations ranging from an increase of 10 per cent to 25 per cent.

The Indian market is dominated by three telecom giants: Players like Reliance industries ltd operating Reliance Jio, Bharti operating as Airtel and Vodafone group. These three together serve about 1 billion out of the world 1.19 billion mobile subscribers.

”As of July 3, all three private cell phone service providers Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel Idea / Vodafone, have collectively raised tariffs by an average of 15%.
