Amritsar got its name registered in Guinness Book of World Record

On Thursday, district officials of Amritsar said the state has got its name registered in Guinness Book of World record.

Amritsar held the record of dance performance by 8,726 students from 40 schools. The performance delivered the message against drugs.

The district administration has received an official statement from the Records Management Team of Guinness World Records office.

The statement was that the largest Bollywood dance performance of students held at Khalsa College has secured the city title of Guinness World Record.

Deputy Commissioner, Ravi Bhagat said that on October 3rd 2015, the students were attired in the same costume.

They performed for an anti-drug awareness campaign and also told its ill-effects. In order to spread message against drugs, school students performed on Bollywood song “India Wale”.

In this regard, intimation has been received by the administration. Earlier the record was made by Mumbai students that included 4,428 students in the year 2012.

Now this record has been beaten up by 8,726 students of Amritsar.
