It is a free race for speed demons zipping through the streets of the capital at night, while the Delhi police have failed to stop in. Interceptors, equipment that detects the speed of a vehicle in the arsenal of the police have not been put to better use at night.
What makes the inaction of the police even more alarming is that 50 percent of accidents take place at night in Delhi, according to a survey by the Centre for Science and Environment.

Officials have admitted that prosecutions at night have been low, but the traffic police refused to provide data for offenders caught speeding in the last hours. While it is not a free for all at night, during the day the application also appears to be a challenge.
