23 Maoists Surrendered in Chhattisgarh
With the surrender on 23 Maoists a local Maoists network was busted, which was created by “leaders from outside” as the Chhattisgarh police quoted. Three among them carried an award of one lakh.
The Maoists group had started operating its activities in Kumakolenga area of Jagdalpur in 2004 which had a good level of education with most people passed till VIII but the area had started facing increase in violence under the influence of Naxals.
The police had been working for quite some time to get the naxals to surrender and break the group by helping the police to work against those from outside; this was stated in the press statement issued by the police.
Police has recovered official documents like ration cards, aadhar cards and election cards which used to help them take cover as poor villagers, adivasis and labourers.
