The Day

The Day

It was never the same again
As I saw it all crashing down
I kept running nonetheless
Even as it burned to the ground

My life as it had been
Was uprooted from underneath
When I noticed the lies
They had all been feeding me

Insecure of what I am
What I was, and what I’ll be
Accepting the darkness
Isn’t it treason?

I always stood up for the right
Demanded an answer in return
But since that day passed by
I haven’t been able to say a single word
