Marlon James wins Man Booker prize
Jamaica has won it’s first Man Booker prize for fiction through it’s writer Marlon James.
He won it for his book ‘A Brief History of Seven Killings,’ which is based on an failed attempt a few years back on the life of Reggae cult star Bob Marley.
Marlon said “Jamaica has a really really rich literary tradition, it is kind of surreal being the first and I hope I’m not the last and I don’t think I will be.”
