The World Heritage Week 2019 was celebrated in India from November 19 to November 25. The week is observed by UNESCO. The main aim behind observing this week is to make people aware of the rich heritage of India and to encourage them for its preservation. Various events related to historical structures, tour places and cultural heritage of the country are initiated to mark the importance of this week. The theme of World Heritage 2019 is ‘Rural Landscapes’.

How India celebrated World Heritage Week 2019?
Schools and colleges in India are celebrating World Heritage Week with a lot of enthusiasm. Many quiz competitions & painting competitions were organized to mark the importance of this week. Notably, the Archaeological Survey of India and many other museums have organized programs and events to highlight the importance of historical monuments and their preservation. Some of the heritage sites celebrating the week are Qutub Minar, Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Red Fort and many more.
