Skincare tips for winter: Everything is possible, but keeping your skin healthy in the winter is quite challenging. But we never said that it was impossible. So, here we are, calling out ways to treat your nose, hands, feet, and elbows better than before.
5 Skincare tips for winter
Red Nose and cheeks: Happens due to sudden weather changes. If you are travelling by car, which is usually warm from the inside. So, as soon as you step out of the car, a cold breeze pecks your cheeks and nose, turning you red.
It may be sounding you poetic but trust us, it’s not! Dry cheeks and nose is the most uncomfortable feeling ever. To prevent this, try to switch off the heater for two minutes before reaching the destination. Or, if you are in the office, stay in the alley for a while. Try not switching the weather constantly because a red nose can lead to bleeding due to dilating blood vessels. Cover your nose with a muffler if you cannot help changing the temperature.
Rough and cracked feet: They should be treated with an excellent nourishing night cream that contains glycerine, urea, and some kind of glycolic acid for exfoliation purposes, which should be applied to the sole of the foot every night. Also, the cream should have petroleum jelly, the best nourishing cream for the soles of the feet. The same applies to scaly elbows. So if you get scaly elbows in the winter, you can follow the same routine. To keep your elbows moisturized, add the powdered camphor to the cream and apply ghee.
Chapped lips: It would be surprising to know, but there are remedies to eliminate chipped lips in your kitchen. Ghee or Butter (White/Yellow) can work as the best lip balm. For all those who are health conscious, it is essential to realise that your body requires some ghee in the winter. Choose lip balm that is scent-free, alcohol-free and chemical-free because they blacken the lips. Make homemade lip balm. Take a box of petroleum jelly and put rose petals in it. Freeze the mixture and drain the rest to use as a lip balm.
Dry Scalp: The scalp turns dry due to dryness in the skin and dandruff. People with dry scalps cannot oil their scalps to retain the quality of their hair. So to avoid dryness of the scalp, use conditioner made especially for a dry scalp. You can even apply eggs with yolks on your scalp as it would provide better conditioning. Curd can also work as a good conditioner, and for all Vodka lovers, vodka can help you keep your hair and scalp healthy. Use vodka after shampooing as a conditioner, wait for two minutes and rinse. If you don’t want to smell like vodka, then shampoo again.
Cuticle: Apply any cream that contains Olive oil with vitamin E at night. Refrain from going for regular manicures; remember to cut the torn part with a nail cutter rather than peeling it off because these are skin threads that would become longer and worse if you keep peeling them off. You have to keep moisturising it.
So, we hope that this winter, One World News, has saved your nose from turning red, cuticles from coming off, scalp from turning dry, feet from being rough and cracked, and finally, lips from being dry and chapped. Enjoy these winters with supple skin!
