A Madurai, Tamil Nadu, woman who was baking a cream cake with spicy mutton keema that she had prepared ahead of time ended up on the receiving end of the internet. She released the recipe for “Mutton Keema Cake” in a video that has gone viral and had over 3 million views, so it goes without saying that the internet was not happy.

In the now-viral video, Vidhu Singh—who bills herself as a “cake artist” and a “passionate baker” on Instagram—demonstrates how to make “Mutton Keema Cake.” She started by making a fiery keema sauce, then sandwiched it between layers of sponge cake. Finally, she topped it off with cream and coriander and chili leaves.
“I had prepared keema gravy, or mutton kothu kari.” Then, since this was merely an experiment, I created four sponge layers but only used two of them. Since the sponge will absorb the kothu kari’s juice rather than sugar syrup, I utilized it as the frosting between the layers. I prepared this cake by adding mutton flavor to the icing and sponge. I used kothu kari as the topping and added coriander and chili flakes as garnish. It was also suggested by my relatives that I preserve the bone for garnish.
