The festival marks the birthday of Lord Ganesh who is viewed as the god of wisdom, prosperity and good luck. Falling in the August and September, Ganesh Chaturthi is an annual celebration that is observed during Hindu month of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada.

For those who was planning a new born baby party or any other related event, it is important to consider the auspicious timings. The Madhyahna Ganesha Puja Muhurat is from 11:03 am to 1:34 pm of September 7, 2024 hence the right time to place the murti (idol). The Chaturthi Tithi beings at 3:01 pm on September 6 of 2014 and ends at 5: 37 pm September 7 of the same year. Devotees are advised to avoid sighting the moon during specific periods: arising from 3:01 pm to 8:16 pm in the July 6 and from 9:30 am to 8:45 pm in the July 7. Also, the Brahma Muhurta is early morning between 4:31 and 5:16 and Vijaya Muhurta is afternoon between 2:24 pm to 3:14 pm.
Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most popular festivals which is celebrated in India with great enthusiasm especially in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. The celebration is for 10 days, and Ganesh Visarjan is on the 11th day on September 17, when people immerse the Ganesh idol in water.
