Yashasvi Jaiswal Kicks Rahane’s Kitbag, Leaves Mumbai After Dispute
Yashasvi Jaiswal kicked Ajinkya Rahane's kit bag, and then, left Mumbai. Here is the full reort!
Yashasvi Jaiswal Kicked Ajinkya Rahane’s Kitbag Amid Team Tensions – Here’s the Report!
As per reports in the media, for everything young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal has done, including reported leaving the Mumbai team, it is said that the excuse this time was that it was some issue between him and senior player Ajinkya Rahane. Jaiswal was angry because he was treated unfairly, kicked Rahane’s kitbag at last step out of the dressing room, and then left the Mumbai cricket setup.
The incident reportedly happened, keeping in mind the season of the Ranji Trophy, during which the tensions boiled within the Mumbai squad. One of India’s most promising young talents, Jaiswal was unhappy with the treatment given by the team management and senior players. According to the sources, he felt that he was targeted and, perhaps, on accounts of team selection or attitude or internal discipline.
The exact details may not be known, but it is said that the dust finally rose from kicking the kitbag of Rahane, one of those veteran spokespersons of Mumbai and possibly one of the most revered sportsmen in Indian cricket, by Jaiswal during an outburst of ire. That was taken as a challenge, and it was said that the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and senior members of the squad were not very happy with it.
After that, it is said that Jaiswal left the domestic setup of Mumbai, preferring to stay away from a team that he believed was not able to give him what he deserved. However, there has been no word from either the player or the Mumbai team management concerning his exit.
Increasing Frustration and Unresolved Matters
It isn’t all that well when he leaves India: Jaiswal has made it with the most forceful of an aggressive brand of batting in the international arena, and he has had a long wait as India’s best bet for the future. For these young men, the real problem usually comes, when at home-the politics, all those seniority-based hierarchies, difficult selection decisions-make domestic cricket hard for them always.
This, too, was not the first time a key player was driven to seek opportunities beyond Bombay because of internal friction within Mumbai cricket. Over the years, many cricketers have walked out of the Mumbai setup due to selection disputes or clashed with team management. The exit of Jaiswal would be a major jolt to the team, given that he has proven his talent to dominate opposition attacks.
This 22-year-old has been in absolutely brilliant form around international cricket, particularly in Tests, where he scored a few centuries already. Leaving Mumbai’s domestic circuit may suggest some other things at a larger level within the dressing room of the state team, especially if others of similar age feel that way.
Role of Rahane and Mumbai’s Verdict about it –
A seasoned hand through his long experience of playing at the international level would not be able to avoid a charge of open knowingness and a quality of mentorship that Rahane has, scoring very highly in these characteristics.
While he has not yet made a public statement regarding the purported event, sources stated that he tried to diffuse inflammatory tensions before things got out of hand. The Mumbai Cricket Association, however, remained stony-faced except for delaying discussions on the issue, perhaps to deter unnecessary controversy at this point in time.

With the following domestic season just a few weeks away, it has to be seen whether Jaiswal will have a rethink on his stand or whether attempts will be made by Mumbai Cricket to patch this up. If indeed true, then Mumbai risks losing one of the brightest young stars to another state team, an unqualified disaster for its future.
For now, cricket fans and analysts alike await any official statements from Jaiswal and from Mumbai’s management, with hopes that these statements will shed light on what would, at the very least, be an amicable settlement in the name of Indian cricket.
