Pakistan Trip Turns Anantnag Man Adil Into LeT’s Pahalgam Attack Mastermind.
The investigation into the actual Pahalgam attack is likely to reveal how the different individuals are involved and the extent of the Pakistan-based LeT's involvement.
Pakistan Trip Turned Anantnag’s Adil Into LeT Mastermind Behind Attack
According to the current intelligence, however; the major operative of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) task force in charge of the Pahalgam attack was found out to be Saifullah Kasuri from Pakistan. It is now believed that execution on ground will involve local militants, probably an individual called Adil, whose name does not appear in the list of strategic masterminds behind it. In fact, examining the hypothetical situation in the title would give us an insight into possible paths of radicalization and effects of cross-border terrorism. If one should come up with the idea that someone living in Anantnag, named Adil, could considerably become close to one of the masterminds in an attack because of a holiday in Pakistan, then logically, the entire process would involve stages:
1. Radicalization and Recruitment: A trip to Pakistan would probably be the link that between this reality and the final touch: packaging, processing, and a sir name changes by having participated in all these activities. For the most part, the trip could serve as a link to previous established exposure into their recruitment procedures. Adil, a hypothetical young boy from Anantnag, would most probably have been susceptible to extremist ideologies. Factors could include socio-economic grievances; exposure to propaganda (online or offline), and local radical elements.
2. Training and Indoctrination: On arrival into Pakistan, Adil would most probably spend a period in LeT camps, going through arms handling, explosives using, and attack tactics training. This would be supplemented with strong indoctrination, solidifying already acquired extremist beliefs, demonizing enemies, and giving a purpose to the terrorist mission. Therefore, the period would be used to change Adil from a sympathizing potential individual into a committed operative.
3. Networking and Assignment: While in Pakistan, Adil would be integrated into the LeT network, building contact with senior commanders like Saifullah Kasuri and other operatives. His skills wouldn’t be wholly based on the perceived loyalty and understanding of the local geography in Anantnag-another factor more probably that could make him extremely useful when he is going to plan and execute attacks in the region. It is possible that he may be selected or groomed specifically for a major role, possibly even a planner or leader’s level in an attack like Pahalgam.
4. Planning and Execution (Remote or Direct): Hence Adil may become the mastermind-remotely or directly too depending on how LeT intends to work on it. One of the things most likely to happen during Adil’s travel to Pakistan is that he will manage to create some logistical networks in Anantnag. Some of the assignments that could be under his purview include hiring local hands, storage of safe havens, managing acquisition of arms and explosives, and even taking care of the movement of operatives- all of which are critical elements of a successful terror attack. However, it must be reiterated that the present evidence does not support this particular scenario with an Anantnag resident named Adil as the mastermind. Rather, it points towards Saifullah Kasuri, who operates from Pakistan, as the main strategist.

But what such a hypothetical pathway brings out, is the threat of cross-border terrorism and the chances that an individual may get radicalized and trained outside his native country, and returns to inflict violence in his own region. It requires vigorous counter-terrorism interventions such as collection of intelligence, border security, and countering extremist ideologies both on line and within communities. The investigation into the actual Pahalgam attack is likely to reveal how the different individuals are involved and the extent of the Pakistan-based LeT’s involvement.
