Los Angeles: Wildfire Death Toll Climbs to 24, Hundreds Missing as Fierce Winds Fan the Flames
The current burning inclined Los Angeles fires are alleged to have killed 24 people with many more remaining unaccounted for. These fires that have turned into days have ravaged thousands of homes and businesses and countless are found homeless and without food. The situation is compounded and the weather prognosis portrays even worse days ahead with winds expected to fuel the fires.
The fires are quite intense because of strong winds and dry surrounding and the fires have quickly spread through the region forcing people to abandon their homes and businesses. Firefighters have been busy trying to put out the fires as has been seen, but this has been difficult as a result of the bad weather. These are expected to arise up to a force of 70 miles per hour and thus are expected to help fuel the fires besides making the work of firefighters more challenging in putting out the fire.
This has led to the government putting out some messages to its citizens advising them not to move unnecessarily around the country. This has revealed that the air in the region is unhealthy because the smoke and particulate matter in the air are too much for humans to breathe in. The current situation is worse for those with the underlying health conditions which are being encouraged to go the extra mile to ensure they do not fall sick.
As the event proceeds the people of the community are opening their arms and heart to help all victims of the fire. Food, water, and clothes are being given to the victims and volunteers from different parts of the world are spelled up in the night assisting the needy ones. I think that the people of Los Angeles will remain strong and perseverant and, therefore, the city will become even more united after all these days.
