Kantara Chapter 1 Beats Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari in Advance Bookings Across India and Abroad
Fans of Rishab Shetty are eagerly counting down to the release of Kantara: Chapter 1, and the early response has been phenomenal. The film, which promises breathtaking visuals, gripping storytelling, and engaging music, has generated tremendous anticipation among audiences both in India and internationally. With the trailer creating waves across social media, the excitement surrounding the film has only intensified.
Advance booking for Kantara: Chapter 1 began recently, and the results are already impressive. In Karnataka and the United States, tickets have been selling rapidly, reflecting strong fan enthusiasm. North India joined the wave on September 28, and the early numbers have shown an overwhelming response from cinema-goers eager to witness the film from October 2.
Reports from major multiplex chains such as PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis indicate that Kantara: Chapter 1 has sold approximately 7,200 tickets for its opening day alone. This positions the film well ahead of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, which is scheduled to release on the same date and has reported around 4,500 tickets booked in advance. These numbers demonstrate the strong initial advantage that Kantara enjoys in the race for audience attention.
Hombale Films actively promoted the advance bookings with a striking poster captioned, “The doors of #Kantara are open… Advance Bookings for #KantaraChapter1 are now live across North India. Be among the first to witness the legend! In Cinemas #Kantara Chapter1 on Oct 2.” This promotional push has clearly resonated with fans, contributing to the film’s robust early sales.
Ahead of its release, the makers of Kantara: Chapter 1 have reportedly made specific demands regarding the allocation of shows in theatres. According to Bollywood Hungama, AA Films, the film’s distributors, have requested multiple shows across single-screen, two-screen, and three-screen venues. This includes 12 shows for two-screen theatres and 18 shows for three-screen multiplexes, ensuring that Kantara gets maximum visibility even alongside its box office competitor, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.
Such aggressive show allocation is rare, particularly the demand for all shows in a three-screen multiplex, highlighting the confidence of Kantara’s producers in the film’s potential. Sources indicate that the distributors aimed to secure every available slot to accommodate the anticipated audience surge and maintain a competitive edge in ticket sales.
Kantara: Chapter 1 is one of Hombale Films’ most ambitious projects to date. The creative team, including music director B. Ajaneesh Loknath, cinematographer Arvind Kashyap, and production designer Vinesh Banglan, has crafted a visually striking and emotionally engaging cinematic experience. A major highlight is the large-scale war sequence, featuring over 500 trained fighters and 3,000 participants, shot over 45–50 days on a rugged 25-acre terrain. This effort marks one of the most elaborate action sequences in Indian cinema.

Scheduled for a worldwide release on October 2, Kantara: Chapter 1 will be available in multiple languages, including Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali, and English, ensuring accessibility for audiences across regions and countries.
Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, releasing on the same date, is a Hindi-language romantic comedy directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Dharma Productions in collaboration with Mentor Disciple Entertainment. Starring Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, Maniesh Paul, and Akshay Oberoi, the film is expected to attract audiences during the Dussehra festival. Despite this, Kantara: Chapter 1 has clearly captured the early momentum, beating Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari in advance bookings and setting the stage for a strong opening.
