India strengthened its missile capabilities as Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) successfully test-fired the surface-to-surface BrahMos supersonic cruise missile in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
BrahMos is a nuclear-capable missile. It can be fired from land, surface, and air. Previously the Indian Navy had successfully demonstrated the accuracy of an extended-range land-attack BrahMos supersonic cruise missile from the stealth destroyer INS Chennai.

Khush Khabari: Andhra Pradesh launches mobile caravans for woman cops
Taking a women-friendly initiative, Andhra Pradesh unveiled mobile fleets, which will be helpful for women police. These caravans have restrooms and dressing rooms for the women police personnel.
The state launched 163 Disha patrol vehicles and 18 caravans. Another 12 fleets will also join this list very soon. Around 3000 cars that are functioning will be equipped with GPS for protecting women in distress.

Adding a feather to India’s cap, sprinter Pranav Prashant Desai won the gold medal in the men’s 200m T64 final at the 2022 World Para Athletics Grand Prix. This is India’s 1st Gold medal in the tournament.
Earlier, para-athlete Dharambir created a new Asian record in the men’s F32/51 club throw event and bagged a silver.

Khush Khabari: Hindi novel gets longlisted for International Booker Prize
It is a proud moment for Hindi literature as a Hindi novel has been longlisted for the International Booker Prize 2022 for the first time. Geetanjali Shree’s translated Hindi novel Tomb of Sand, translated from the original Ret Samadhi, earned this fame. Shortlisted authors and translators will each be honoured with GBP 2500. The author’s other Hindi novels are Mai, Hamara Sharar Us Baras, and Tirohit.
Khush Khabari: Bihar becomes the 1st state to implement a dynamic map to track land ownership
Setting an example in the adoption of technology in administration, Bihar has become the 1st state in India to introduce the concept of the dynamic map that will automatically get updated each time land ownership changes hands.
This initiative is taken as the Bihar government intends to resolve the issue of long-pending land reforms.

India’s rich heritage gained momentum as 29 antiquities of India have been repatriated to their homeland by Australia. This list includes several masterpieces which fall into six broad categories as per the themes of Shiva and his disciples. “Worshipping Shakti,’ ‘Lord Vishnu and his forms,’ Jain tradition, portraits, and decorative objects.
These antiquities are Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and West Bengal.
Khush Khabari: Nagaland becomes a first paperless assembly
Making the best use of digitalization, Nagaland assembly became the first paperless assembly in India. It is implementing the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) program.
It has attached a tablet or e-book on each table in the 60 members’ assembly. This step has enabled the members to use electronic devices to participate in House proceedings. It has also boosted paperless operations and aligns with the government’s commitment.
