A differently abled woman brings change!
Arya, a wheelchair-bound with 80% cerebral palsy, paved the path for a valuable ‘correction’ in the system for the differently-abled after she passed the aptitude test of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) with flying colours.
Arya raised 2 demands before the DLSA, that she be allowed a person of equivalent qualification to write the test and be given extra time.
India gears up for 6G
India’s telecommunication sector is expected to witness a major innovation as the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has formed a technology innovation group for the 6th generation (6G).
This forum intends to create a vision and objectives and also develop a roadmap for research and development (R&D), pre-standardization, development of applications and products, and action plans for 6G technology.
COVAXIN gets WHO nod
India’s Covid-19 vaccine manufacturing expedition grabbed all the eyes of the world as the World Health Organization (WHO) gave its nod to COVAXIN for worldwide use.
This vaccine is developed by Bharat Biotech with ICMR. The approval was done based on the recommendation of the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) for Emergency Use Listing (TAG-EUL), an independent advisory panel.

The holy city Ayodhya created a Guinness World Record as it witnessed lighting the maximum number of earthen lamps.
Over nine lakh earthen lamps (diyas) were lit along the banks of Saryu river in the land of Lord Ram. 3 lakh diyas were lit separately at different places in Ayodhya as part of the Diwali celebrations.

Providing India’s strength in wrestling Shivani Pawar won a silver medal at the U-23 worlds. With these achievements, she became the 7th Indian to win a silver at the U-23 worlds after Ravi Dahiya and Bajrang Punia.
Anju clinched a bronze medal for India at the event- in the 55kg category.
Bengaluru girl wins Global Award for work on mental health
Kaavya Janaki Mundkur, an 18-year-old girl from Bengaluru has made a place for herself in the list of 100 Rise Global Winners. This award is funded by philanthropists Wendy and Eric Schmidt, the former CEO of Google.
This award recognized Kaavya’s work on mental health through her project Kara.

Giving a major encouragement to artisans, the rural development ministry has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with e-commerce company Flipkart to sell products made by artisans under the Deendayal Ayodhaya Yojana- National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM) program.
The move will help empower self-help groups (SHGs), and local businesses and especially those that are led by women. This also aims to bring them into the e-commerce fold.

Making India proud debutant Akash Kumar (54kg) secured India’s first medal at the AIBA World Men’s Boxing Championships and he successfully made his way to the semi-finals.
He registered a win over former Olympic silver-medallist Yoel Finol Rivas to proceed towards the semi-finals and became the 7th Indian male boxer to win a medal in this tournament. Akash will face Makhmud Sabyrkhan of Kazakhstan in the upcoming semi-finals.

3 Bihar-born senior government officers have set up AIM (Ambedkar Initiative for the Marginalized) Pathshala in 3 districts.
Around 450 children, nearly 40% of the girls, are given free tuition and study material. They have hired 6 teachers at each school.
This project is their initiative fully funded by their money.
