Adding a feather to India’s heritage Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya has created a new Guinness World Record as the temple city lightened over 15 lakh earthen lamps on the banks of the Saryu.
Prime minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Deepotsav celebrations. The Guinness record certificate was displayed on the occasion.
Khush Khabri: Gujarat becomes 100% ‘Har Ghar Jal’ state
Gujarat was declared a ‘Har Ghar Jal’ state on October 26, meaning all households in the state now have tap water connections. Under the ‘Jal Jeevan Mission,’ the project has been phased in over the years. All 91,73,378 houses in the state now have access to water, according to government officials.
“By 2024, the ‘Har Ghar Jal’ initiative aims to provide potable tap water to every rural household in India in sufficient quantity, of prescribed quality, and on a regular and long-term basis”, said reports.
