Good news: Madhya Pradesh government to introduce ‘Happiness’ as a subject in school syllabus
The Madhya Pradesh government is considering introducing ‘happiness’ as a subject in the syllabus of its high school and higher secondary school from the next academic session.
The subject will be mandatory for the students of all streams from class 9 to 12, adding that Madhya Pradesh would be possibly the first state in the country where this subject will be introduced in schools. In 2016, Madhya Pradesh became the first state in the country to set up a happiness department.

Proving its dominance in the world of cricket India has become the first team in the history of the U19 World Cup to enter the U19 World Cup finals for the fourth consecutive time.
India successfully entered the final of the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2022 after registering a 96-run win over Australia at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua.
Good news: PR Sreejesh wins world games athlete of the year award
It is a proud moment for India as Indian hockey goalkeeper PR Sreetesh has won the prestigious world games athlete of the year. He is the second Indian to receive the award.
Sreejesh received 1,27,647 votes, which is almost twice as the second-placed athlete, Spain’s Sport Climbing ace Albert Gines Lopez, who has 67428 votes. In 2019, India women’s captain Rani had won this prestigious award.

Good news: Pune to have pink E-cabs exclusively for women passengers
Steps to ensure the safety of women during travel gains momentum as Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has decided to start separate pink electric cars for women commuters. Women drivers will be deployed for these e-cabs.
Initially, PMPML will run 100 e-cabs in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad area. E-cab service will be available from various PMPML bus stands around the city like-
Shivajinagar, Deccan, Swargate, Pulgate, Pune railway station, and markets. Each e-cab will run up to 150 Kms of daily limit and the fare would be around ₹10 per km.
Good news: Odisha launches helpline to deal with mental illness
Taking an important step towards mental health Odisha has launched a helpline, which will be available to provide help from 10 am to 5 pm (Monday to Saturday). Each district has mental health professions to address the mental health issues of people.
The state government has released the phone numbers of the mental health helpline to provide psychological first aid and assistance to those who are suffering from Covid-19 or recovered. There are three helpline numbers available for each district through which one can reach the professionals through the phone.

Indian women’s hockey team defeated china 2-0 to attain the bronze medal at the 2022 Asia cup in Muscat, Oman. In the bronze medal match drag-flicker, Gurjit Kaur and forward Sharmila Devi scored a goal apiece off penalty corners for India.
Earlier the Indian team lost 2-3 against South Korea in their semi-final clash.
