Fake news: Four videos are going viral across social media, showing Indian cricketers apologizing for India’s loss to England in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup. The cricketers in the viral videos are Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav.
Foolproof: However, the viral claim is false. All of them date back at least a year and show cricketers apologizing. In any of the videos, there is no reference to India’s loss to England in the T20 World Cup.

Kisne feka: A video showing CCTV footage of an earthquake is circulating in the context of an impactful 6.3-magnitude earthquake in Nepal that led to six people’s death on November 9.
The viral video shows a picture of a sleeping dog disturbed by a tremor from an earthquake. Many big News outlets also shared the viral video.
Foolproof: The viral claim is false. This viral video shows an incident in the Philippines in 2021. The video does not show the recent Nepal earthquake that caused Delhi’s tremors.
Goan beaches to be an alcohol-free zone!
Fake news: The purported ban on drinking alcohol on beaches is widely circulated on social media. According to the article, the Goan government has banned alcohol consumption on beaches with fines of up to Rs 50,000.
Foolproof: The viral claim is misleading. The Goan government banned alcohol consumption in 2013. Goa’s order does not prohibit the consumption of alcohol in beach shacks and beachside establishments. Tourism places and open beaches are the only places where alcohol consumption is restricted. A fine of Rs 5000 to Rs 50,000 may be imposed for violating this.

Kisne feka: Several videos showing glamorously lit boats arranged purposefully to create an impression of a giant dragon sailing in the river at night are going viral on social media with different claims. Users claimed that the viral video was from Kerala, while others claimed it was from Sri Mahankaleshwara Devalayam, Miralem Mandi, a temple in Hyderabad.
Foolproof: Well, none of these claims is true. The viral still was published on a government website, Guangxi China, dated May 20 2022. Eighty bamboo rafts with golden lights meander along the Yulong River near Baisha Town’s Yulong Village in Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. “Golden Dragon Boat”, also known as “Dragon Boat” in China, is presented in this video. Yulong River held the event to commemorate the 12th China Tourism Day and develop new night tourism business ideas.

Fake news: A claim is going viral across social media, implying a communal angle in a recent incident of burning religious texts in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The claim is viral following the collapse of the Morbi bridge in Gujarat on October 30.
Foolproof: The viral claim is misleading. The Shahjahanpur police have arrested a person named Taj Mohammed in the case of the burning of religious texts. They have stated that the mental condition of the accused is not stable. There is no communal angle in the case of the burning of sacred texts.
