Fake news: An image of a woman with a scarred face has been circulating across social media, claiming that she is a victim of a recent suicide bomb attack in Kabul, Afghanistan.
Foolproof: The viral claim is false. The viral image dates back to 2016 and shows Razia Noorizada Didar, who was one of the seriously wounded when Tolo TV’s company’s bus was rammed by the car of a Taliban suicide bomber.
Razia has lost sight in her left eye and has several fractured bones, and her face is scarred from burns and shrapnel. She was an employee at Tolo TV, one of Afghanistan’s largest entertainment channels.

Kisne feka: An overcrowded train video is going viral across social media. It claims that candidates of the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) hang on to trains in a rush to the exam centres. The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission conducted the PETs on the 15th and 16th of October. This has led to a massive rush of passengers at several UP-railway stations and bus depots as many candidates travelled towards and away from their exam centres.
Fact-check: The viral claim is false. A tweet by North Central Railway was published on October 15, 2022. The tweet cautioned against spreading rumours while tagging Congress Secretary Priyanka Gandhi. The caption of the tweet notes, “Regarding Priyanka Gandhi’s tweet (now deleted), it is clarified that coach number 40042 of MEMU train has not passed Prayagraj today, and this image has nothing to do with the UP-PET exam.”

Viral claim: A group of naked women in a viral video can be seen hunched on their knees. They are approached by a sizable makeshift puppet dressed in green clothes holding a gun. As the green puppet points the gun to the nude women, they are seen walking away. It is claimed that it shows topless women protesting against the hijab policy in Iran.
Truth ka dose: The viral claim is false. A report by ADN was published on December 15, 2019. The women took to the streets protesting against previous Chilean President Sebastián Piñera and Carabineros, Chile’s national law enforcement police. The protest occurred in front of the Catholic University of Chile. The additional reasons for the protests were the increasing cost of living, a struggling public health system, a lack of education rights, low wages and pensions, and severe inequality.

Fake news: In a video, people wearing skull caps use hammers to break down the entrance of a religious structure. The structure’s entrance has two icons “snakes and a crescent moon and star”. The viral video is widely shared with the claim that Muslims in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur demolished an ancient Hindu temple.
Foolproof: The viral claim is false. A report by India Today was published on October 18, 2022. The article reads that dargah was being demolished to construct a Mosque in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur. As per the article, the incident occurred at LB Nagar in Guntur on October 12.
