Woman protesting nude against Iran’s Hijab policy!

Fake news: The video is going viral with the claim that the women protesting against the hijab policy of Iran have taken to protesting topless.

Fool proof: The viral claim is misleading. The video was shot in Amsterdam and showed female rights activist Niloufer Fouladi. She was protesting against the hijab policy in Iran through a topless protest.

Kisne Feka: An image shows Akhilesh Yadav performing the last rites of his father, Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Fool proof: The image depicts Ashish Misra, a journalist, performing the last rites of his father, who died on the same day as Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Hindu temples were attacked in Bangladesh!

Kisne Feka: Several images of broken pandals and idols can be seen in the viral collage. This comes after the Hindu deity Maa Kali temple was attacked in Dautiya village in Bangladesh’s Jhenaidah district.

Fool proof:

Image 1: According to a report from Free Press Journal dated October 14 2021, the viral incident occurred in Bangladesh’s Comilla district. Due to a rumour, a significant attack happened on a Hindu temple during Durga Puja, in which three people died.

Image 2: According to an India Today report dated October 15 2021, several unidentified Muslim fanatics vandalised Hindu shrines during the Durga Puja celebrations. Paramilitary forces were sent into 22 areas after four people were killed and numerous more were injured in the conflict. Taking cognisance of this incident, Sheikh Hasina, the Bangladesh Prime Minister, also promised justice to the victims.

Image 3: According to The Quint, dated March 19, 2022, report, a group of 200 individuals vandalised the ISKCON Radhakanta Temple in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on March 17, ahead of the Hindu holiday of Holi.

Fake news: An image of a man resting his head lightly on a crocodile’s jaw is going viral on social media. The image is being circulated, claiming that it shows Babiya, a famous crocodile in Kerala.

Fool proof: The viral claim is misleading. The image shows Gilberto “Chito” Shedden, a fisherman in Costa Rica, and a crocodile named ‘Pocho’. The crocodile was captured along with Shedden in several images and documentaries. Pocho, the crocodile, died in 2011. Thus, we can ascertain that media outlets shared a photo with a false context.

Attack on Hindus during Durga Puja celebrations! 

Kisne Feka: In the viral video, some people are pelting stones, destroying loudspeakers and lights mounted on a truck with sticks. It is to be said that the viral video is from Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. While giving this incident a communal angle, people on social media claimed that Hindus were allegedly attacked with sticks, swords, and rods during the immersion of the Hindu goddess Durga.

Fool Proof: The viral claim is false. According to the report of Amar Ujala dated October 07 2022, the viral incident occurred between two Durga Puja committees at the time of Durga immersion in Bilaspur on October 07. There was a line of tableaux from Devkinandan Chowk to Juna Bilaspur. Durga puja committees were given one by one entry from City Kotwali Chowk. The report mentions a dispute between Chantidih Durga Samiti and Kududant Durgatsav Samiti.

A scuffle broke out between the two committees over which party would go for immersion first. The youths on both sides started thrashing each other with sticks and rods. Stones and bricks were pelted from both sides. During this, vehicles carrying the Durga idol and DJ vehicle were also vandalised.
