Khush Khabri: India unveils 1st Covid vaccine for animals

The ICAR-National Research Centre on Equines (NRCE) in Haryana has developed a vaccine Anocovax, India’s first homegrown COVID-19 vaccine for animals.

The vaccine uses Alhydrogel as an adjuvant and it consists of inactivated SARS-Cov-2 (Delta) antigen. As for the report, this is safe for dogs, lions, leopards, mice and bunnies. Also, ‘CoV-2 ELISA kit’, a sensitive and specific nucleocapsid protein-based indirect kit was unveiled for antibody detection against SARS_Cov-2 in canines.

Good news: Helicopter service from Srinagar to Amarnath Shrine to be introduced

A great news for pilgrims, as the Government will launch helicopter service directly from Srinagar for Amarnath Yatra, an annual Hindu pilgrimage in South Kashmir this year.

Tourists will be able to use helicopter service directly from Srinagar to Panchtarni, the last stop point located at an elevation of 3500 meters from where a 6 kilometer trek takes pilgrims to the holy amaranth. This move will bring down the rush on roads through Pahalgam and Baltal.

Inspiring! Specially-abled boy walks to school on one leg to pursue his dreams

The 14-year-old Parvaiz Ahmed Hajam is a resident of Nowgam Mawer Village in the Handwara block area of Kupwara, J&K. “If I get an artificial limb, I can walk. It will help me pursue higher education, and I have a dream to achieve something in my life,” he told ANI.

Parvaiz had to cover a distance of more than 2 km daily to reach the school. He is currently studying 9th grade at the Government secondary school in Nowgam. Due to bad roads in the village, he cannot use the wheelchair provided by the government.

Emotionally overwhelmed by the heart-rending video of Parvaiz, Jaipur foot USA chairman Prem Bhandari has decided to help the boy with an artificial limb free of cost.

Good news: Coffee with Collector

The Kaithal Deputy Commissioner, Sangeeta Tetarwal, has launched ‘Coffee with Collector,’ a first-of-its-kind interactive program to obtain first-hand information about public issues.

She interacted with members of women’s self-help groups in the district in the first meeting on June 9. In addition to self-help groups, officials from different departments, such as banks, attended the meeting.

The DC also lauded the works of women’s groups. A lack of quality raw materials prompted the DC to instruct officials to ensure that quality raw materials are available at lower prices from Delhi, Surat, Panipat, and other markets, along with a market to sell finished products.

Impressive! Japanese man become oldest person to sail solo across the pacific

An 83-year-old yachtsman arrived in Japan after a solo, nonstop trip across the Pacific, becoming the oldest person to achieve the feat.

Famed ocean adventurer Kenichi Horie’s arrival in the Kii Strait off western Japan capped a two-month trip that started from a yacht harbor in San Francisco in March.

The sailboat, which passed by Hawaii in April, utilized solar panels for electricity needs on board, and Horie used a satellite phone to speak with his staff and others on the ground.

Have a wonderful day!
