A nondescript high school in the west Midnapore district of West Bengal had lost all hopes of improvement in the infrastructure and facilities as they had no funds.

The cricket of God proved to be the god for the children of this school by helping them with the funds. Earlier this year, the staff of the school sent a letter asking Tendulkar to help them with funds and cricketers Sachin Tendulkar donated more than Rs70 Lakh in repose to their request.
The funds would be used to construct a library, a laboratory and a common room for the girls.
The headmaster of the school said, “The realisation hasn’t yet sunk in. We have no words to express our gratitude”.
