The United Kingdom will stop giving financial aid to India from the 1st of January,2016. This is a result of the decision that was made in2012 itself.
Support worth about £200m was given to India from the year 2012 to 2015. Even though the financial support will come to ahalt, the technical assistance between the two nations will continue.
This decision was taken when Pranab Mukherjee, the current Presidentof India was the finance mister. The government of India also saidthat new agreements for technical assistance projects in the agricultural, urban infrastructure and energy sectors were signed between the two nations.
