Take Care Of Your Twins!
Take Care Of Your Twins!
Taking care of your child is not always child’s play and it can become even more difficult if you have twins. Having twins has many advantages such as they can play with each other, they sleep better and are less fussy then single kids because they never feel lonely.
Yes, of course twins bring double the happiness but at the same time they can double the trouble if not cared for properly.
Although, every child needs continuous grooming until they grow up as adults, but twins need extra care and it is important to have a balanced life while managing with your twins.
So, how would you do that? Here are some suggestions you can follow to act in a balanced way.
During the initial time, fix up a routine for both the kids, be it for meals, nap times and never forget to get recommendations from the doctor for breast feeding.
If you are alone to look after them, try to seek help from your partner or parents at least during the initial time and eventually you will develop a habit to cope with the situation.
“I never had a joint family or my in laws to help me when my twins were born. I was not able to maintain hygiene and that became the biggest reason that they often fell ill. So, finally I called my mother to help me out because I think trusting a maid is a bad idea”, says Sarika Sinha.
A decent Hygiene level is required: It is always important for a new born but it becomes more essential when you have twins because they both can fall ill. So, to reduce that risk you can separate them.
Never compare them: Always treat your twins as two different individuals. They might share their birthday but that doesn’t mean that they are same. They might have different interests, intellects and hobbies. So, never compare them rather respect them.
Spend time separately with them: Your twins may feel good in each other’s company but as a parent it’s your responsibility to give them attention individually. This would ensure a good bond between you and your kid.
“My son and daughter are twins and they enjoy each other’s company and they even go to the same school and share the same class. But I always try to give them time separately as this ensures quality time with both of them. This way I also get to know the problems related to different issues”, says Seema Srivastava.
As a mother you should always try to enjoy some ‘me’ time at the initial stages of growing up, then this way you will have refreshment for yourself and you would be able to take good care of your kids.
