Taj Hotel Group’s CEO resigns


Raymond Bickson who has been serving the Indian Hotels Company Limited for almost eleven years has resigned. The IHCL on Thursday 7th August informed BSE that the company’s Managing Director and CEO Raymond Bickson has expressed desire to resign from the services of the company and pursue his personal interest elsewhere. The Board has accepted the resignation in the meeting of Board of Directors held on the same day. Mr. Bickson will step down from his post on August 31 this year.

Bickson joined Taj hotels in January 2003 to oversee all luxury property operations and soon in July of the same year he was appointed as the MD and CEO of the IHCL. The Taj group has developed quite well under his leadership.


Just after some minutes of the announcement, IHCL also announced Mr. Rakesh K. Sarna as the new Managing Editor and Chief Executive Officer of the company, who will join office from September 1st. Mr. Sarna is also a veteran in the hospitality industry with having an experience of over three decades with the Hyatt Hotels Corporation.


The Indian Hotels Company Limited is a division of Tata Group, which handles the responsibility of Taj Hotels operations and management, hospitality & travel subsidiary companies.
