Lily Aldridge is one of the sexiest model every walked on the ramp. At 30 this American model has attained a status of super model a rare phenomenon in the modeling community. Born and brought up in California, Aldridge started modeling at the age of 16. “Glamour was a way of life for us as my mother was associated with playboy magazine and father an artist. Besides, I always fascinated about modeling world, wearing luxury clothes and travelling. Nobody specially groomed me. It was all natural,” Aldridge proudly said.
Though the career graph as model climbed up steadily, Aldridge’s real break happened in 2009 after finishing her school. It was for Victoria Secret fashion show. Like any other she too thrilled having got a chance to walk on the ramp for VS. “I just thrilled and it was first run away I eve r walked. My fellw models gave me tips and that gave confident to take it as a challenge. It is all about attitude,” said Aldridge. One year later she was anointed as Victoria Secret Angel.
Soon another big break as Sports Illustrated model comes up. “It was amazing. I really enjoyed working for the prestigious campaign for 2 years. The campaign was financially rewarding, sand helped me getting more fame internationally.” Aldridge is a foodie; loves roast chicken and vegetables and lot of mineral water. She is a fitness freak and brisk walk of one hour in the morning and half an hour in the afternoon do the trick. “Also I do 30 minutes cardio and ballet”, said the super model.
Her print works include Gap, Tommy Hilfiger, Levis, J. Brand and Accessories among others. Aldridge said that her vogue cover at the age of 17 was God’s sent. “I was on the cover of most of the lifestyle/fashion magazines like Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire etc.” She has been the face of Velvet Tees and later on released her own clothing line with them called Lily Aldridge for Velvet.
About her personal life, she was married to her long time boy friend Kings of Leon front man Caleb Followill in 2011 and next year she gave birth to their daughter Dixie Pearl. “My marriage and birth to a daughter changed my life for good,” she said once.
Among her good friends are Selena Gomez, Gidi Hadid and Taylor Swift.” I even appeared for Taylor Swift in her album Bad Blood. It was an amasing experience and I found Swift a caring woman.”\
