Putting all speculation to rest, Sourav Ganguly has taken over as the president of CAB (Cricket Assocn. Of Bengal). This was also expected in some quarters, given his close proximity to the late Jagmohan Dalmiya.
Giving her stamp of approval to the appointment, the announcement was made by Mamata Banerjee, CM of Bengal herself.
To effect family continuity in the good old Indian tradition, Dalmiya’s son Avishek Dalmiya was also inducted to the board as a joint secretary.
