Smoking may harm your sperm count: Study
Men should take a note, Cigarette smoking may damage the DNA of your sperm and can also affect fertility as compared to non-smokers a new study has shown.
Researchers have also assessed 422 proteins in the participants’ sperms. However, one protein was absent, 6 proteins were over-represented and 27 proteins was under-represented in the smokers.

Analyses of the proteins suggest that the cigarette smoking may promote an inflammatory response in male reproductive tract.
The study was published in the journal BJU international included 20 non-smokers and 20 smokers.
According to the Dr. Ricardo Pimento Bertolla, a senior author of the study, the results were pointing in the direction of the important semen alterations; semen of the smokers presents a further inflammatory nature, which is associated with a decreased capacity of sperm to achieve fertilization and to generate a healthy pregnancy.
