Scientists have discovered malaria-blocking mosquitoes
Scientists have formed a strain of mosquitoes which is capable of quickly introducing malaria-blocking genes into a mosquito population and eliminate its capacity to transmit the disease to human beings.
Researchers from University of California inserted a DNA element into the germ line of Anopheles stephensi mosquitoes. That further resulted in the genetic material preventing the transmission of malaria being passed on surprising 99.5 percent of offspring.
Scientists injected genes in the origin of mosquito targeting a specific mark on the germ line DNA.
According to Researcher Anthony James, This method is helpful in eliminating malaria.
