SANJAY SONI ARTIST BY BIRTH
In an interview with One World News, Sanjoy Soni an artist, who believes in expressing his feelings through his paintings, told us the story of his life about how he ventured into the world of painting. He said, “He never was a studious child and never thought of following the common trend of becoming an engineer or a doctor but also, he never imagined that he would become a Painter one day.”

He said, “When the teacher used to explain the scientific formulas in the class, I used to spend the time drawing some random portrait in my notebook. I never learnt Painting anywhere. This talent is a gift of God, which he gave me with my birth.”
First, he used to do painting for fun gradually, when he started getting appraisal from several people, he thought of turning his hobby into his passion. He started his career by making movie posters and hoardings. In 1990, he started painting his thoughts and from 2005, he started exhibiting his paintings since then, he has never stopped.
Rajasthan theme
Rajasthan, Khajuraho, Buddha and horses, these are the main themes he mostly paints on. Usually, he takes fifteen to twenty days to draw a painting as he never wants to compromise with his art work.
“I never complete my painting in a rush, no matter whatever time it requires” he said justifying his love for the art. He further added “I travel, I observe and then I paint.”
He has also done shows abroad, in Switzerland and London.
Rajasthani Turban series
In 2006 he painted a series of 35 paintings on Khajuraho, in 2008 he did 200 painting based on Buddha as the theme, one of which was also selected for Christie’s Auction House in 2009. He also got the Portrait Award from Indian government in 2012.
