“गरीब के कपार में,मालिक की जूती ही होती है” which translates to A poor man is always subjected to ridiculing by his master says Sanichari.All India Radio presented a hindi play Rudalias part of the Radio NatyaSandhaya. Rudali is a play written by Maha Shweta Devi based in the rural areas of Rajasthan.Maha Shweta Devi is a Dhaka born Indian. She mainly focuses on the brutal oppression and untouchability in rural India.
When the doctor wants his money
Rudali revolves around a woman’s life i.e. Sanichari. It pictures how a woman deals and struggles in many situations. First her father in law dies then her husband dies after which her daughter-in-law elopes and then finally her son succumbs to illness. They couldn’t afford to provide medicine to any of the family members. She is held responsible for al the deaths and is called a daayan i.e. witch. Even her grandson accuses her of being the witch in the family and responsible for all the deaths.
