Right group of secretaries set up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has suggested to extend the Right to Education till class 12th as elementary education is not enough in today’s digital world.
The group of secretaries included school education secretary SC Khuntia, financial service secretary Hasmukh Adhia, health secretary Bhanu Pratap Sharma, food and public distribution secretary Vrinda Sarup and sports secretary Ajit M Sharma made its presentation to the PM last month.
Under Right to Education act, education till class 8th is a fundamental right. If the suggestion by the group is implemented education till class 12th will become fundamental right. Group further suggested to improve the teacher training.
