Recipe of Chilli Potatoes!

Chilly potatoes have become one of the most liked Chinese dishes. Kids to old people, all are crazy about it.

So, here is simple recipe for the dish:

Ingredients

  • potato peeled and cut into wedges – 500 gms.
  • Chopped onion – 2
  • Slivered green bell pepper – 1
  • chopped green coriander leaves – 3 tbs
  • chopped green chillies – 5
  • finely slivered ginger – 1 tbs
  • finely chopped garlic – 3 tbs
  • Corn flour – 100 gms
  • Tomato ketchup – 3 tbs
  • Soya Sauce – 2 Tbs
  • Vinegar – 1 Tbs
  • White chili powder – 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Refined oil to fry and cook

Directions


Heat oil in a wok (kadhai), and at the same time, pat dry the rinsed potato wedges and coat them with dry cornflour.  Once oil is hot, deep fry them till golden and cooked.  Remove excess oil, and leave a couple of tbs in the wok.  Heat again, and add chopped onions, followed by ginger paste, garlic, green chilies, white pepper powder, and saute for a minute or so. Add the slivered green bell pepper.

Now add the tomato ketchup, soya sauce and vinegar.  Stir and cook for another minute or two.  Add the crisp fried potato wedges.  Toss in the wok with the cooked vegetables.  Serve hot.
