Over 3,000 Residential School Students Reportedly Test Positive for Malaria in Kandhamal, Odisha

In Kandhamal district of Odisha around 3,434 students of government aided school have tested positive for malaria.
“The affected students have been administered drugs. The health officials are keeping a watch on their condition,” said Kandhamal District Collector Yamini Sarangi.
The collector ordered the health officials to conduct blood test to the other school childrens after many students of a primary school were found suffering from the vector borne disease last month.
The collector organized a 3 month malaria, dengue and diarrhea awareness camp and also said that the main focus will be on the children.
Kandhamal has recorded two deaths due to malaria this year.
