New Zealand’s enthralling victory over Sri-Lanka
On Monday at University Oval in Dunedin, Trent Boult took 2 quick wickets after lunch and ensures NZ’s victory over Sri-Lanka of 122 runs.
Santner bowled Dushmantha Chameera for 14 while Suranga Lakmal lost his wicket after hitting the ball straight back to brace well.
On the oval pitch, both Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal looked comfortable, before Mathews failed to play a shot and was bowled for 25 by Neil Wagner.
Then Chandimal also failed to play a short on the delivery of Santner and was trapped LBW for 58 runs. To chase down fourth highest rubs in test, Sri-Lanka needed 296 further runs in 98 over.
Chandimal has scored his 10th test half century on this match. The second test match of two test series will start at Seddon Park in Hamilton on 18 December.
