NASA Captures Sun Emitting X-Class Flares
NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory has released the images of the solar eruptions that it captured on June 10th and 11th. The most noticeable fact is that in these two days, the sun has erupted with three different X-class flares. All three flares originated from an active region on the sun that recently rotated into view over the left limb of the sun. The flare on June 11th was classified as an X1.0 and it peaked at 5:06 a.m. EDT.

The above image gives details of three X-class flares erupted from the left side of the sun on both days.

The above image shows the second X-class flare which erupted on June 10th. On the left side of this image appears a bright flash. It was captured at 8:55AM EDT, just after the flare peaked.

The eruption in the above image is classified as an X2.2 flare. This image was captured by the Solar Dynamics Observatory on June 10, 7:41AM EDT.
Solar flares are powerful bursts of radiation, but these harmful flares cannot pass through the Earth’s atmosphere to physically affect humans. However, at high intensities they can disturb the atmosphere in the layer where GPS and communications signals travel.
