More than half the World has little or no toilet access
World Toilet Day, celebrated on November 16, revealed startling facts and figures. According to the United Nations, more tha half the world’s population has little or no toilet facilities and access.
According to the report, around2.4 Billion people have inadequate toilet facilities and access, while a startling 1 Billion have zero such facilities, and have to defecate in the open.
This lack has serious health repercussions, leading to all sorts of diseases and epidemics, once again highlighting the extremes of disparity in our World, and is one aspect which needs addressing at the earliest.
