1958 year winner of Miss Universe, Luz Marina Zuluga from Columbia is no more. The government of Columbia has awarded her with a mansion and tax exemption for life. She died at age of 77 in Manizales.
She was placed 2nd in Miss Columbia 1958. The winner decided to get married and this gave golden opportunity to the Luz Marina to represent Columbia in Long Beach, USA where Miss Universe was held. She won the title.
President of Columbia Juan Manuel Santos said, “I am very sad. She was our first Miss Universe, a reason of pride to all of us Colombians. She will be certainly missed and forever remembered.”
