Let’s keep it simple

“I do not follow any style statement. It is all about individual and personal style. My new collections are simple, very wearable yet uniquely constructed”, says fashion designer Pooja Sabharwal.

Pooja’s Indo-western collection is all about traditional India with contemporary twist. Shye has woven her collection around raw silks, georgette, sequined and cut work fabrics with pearl and dabka work, and the variety to choose from is never ending. The stunning collection is limited edition one and the colour palette was brightly festive, restrained through the use of all colours.

The silhouettes are ethno-futuristic-traditional Indian silhouettes had been contrasted with Avant grade drapes, which is turn simulated the drapes of Indian saris, creating an interesting cross current form. Traditional A-lline and tent shapes have been merged with slimed and restrained volume in lower torso. The collection also flaunt fair amount of structured jackets, which are layered with kalidar (paneled) inners and flared palazzos. Thread work and motifs borrowed from traditional textiles has been given a twist by mixing and matching. There has been a generous use of sequins and pearls.
