Ace cricketer Anil Kumble had been the Chief mentor of cricket team Mumbai Indians since 2013.
He has just announced that his stepping down from this post, and said “ I sign off with the obvious satisfaction of moulding a set of briliant individuals to a high performing unit. Over the 3 years, MI met unprecedented success winning the IPL twice and the Champions Leage once……As I move on to pursue other interests around cricket…”
It must be noted that the team is owned by the Ambanis of Reliance fame, and that Mrs. Nita Ambani, wife of Reliance honcho Mukesh Ambani has taken a keen personal interest in the team since it’s inception, and can often be seen at the various stadiums where the team plays. Also, it can be safely assumed that the parting is by mutual consent, though the suddenness of the move does raise some questions.
