As the name suggests, the Dronacharya award is awarded for excellence in sport coaching. This time the Government of India will be honoring 6 coaches with this award.
The six people are Bishweshwar Nandi (gymnastics), Raj Kumar Sharma (cricket), Nagapuri Ramesh (athletics), Sagar Mal Dhayal (boxing), Pradeep Kumar (swimming, lifetime) and Mahabir Singh (wrestling, lifetime).
Dronacharya award
On being selected for the award, Viart Kohli congratulated his coach Raj Kumar Sharma, who is also a former Ranji trophy player.
He tweeted- “Congratulations Raj Kumar Sir. All the hard work behind the bigger picture never gets noticed… I am delighted for you on getting the Dronacharya Award.”
