IPL-6 ‘spot fixers’ face High Court heat
With the proverbial long arm of the law catching up, the cricketers who were suspended from playing the sport for their role in spot fixing in IPL-6 have received notices from the Delhi High Court.
The cricketers, who include S. Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan, were served notices by Delhi High Court, in addition to thirty three other defendants.
These 36 had been given a clean chit by a lower court earlier, have all been issued notices by High Court Justice Siddharth Mridul.
According to the trial court, Delhi Police had been unable to collect “all necessary ingredients to establish a prima facie case” under the dreaded Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act.
This was challenged by Delhi Police in the Delhi High Court. Hence the summons.
