India’s First Supercar – DC Avanti


The DC Avanti, India’s first super car, is going to hit the roads in January 2015. The car would be offered to its customers at a price of Rs.30 lakh. It will be initially equipped with a mid mounted, Ford sourced, 2 liter four- cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 261 bhp and mated to a 6 speed dual clutch transmission.


The car company is known for its uber-cool customizations and revolutionary designs. It is the Indian version of Ferrari as people can enjoy luxury of a super car at a modest super car price of Rs.30 lakhs. The body shell sand interiors are manufactured in Pune, but the engines of the car are tuned in UK.

Body of the car is made up primarily of aluminum, while body panels are made up of GRP. According to reports, DC has plans to open showrooms all across the country. It has decided to open the next showroom in Hyderabad.

The car was unveiled by Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan in the Auto Expo of 2014. The Avanti is for the buyers who value good looks and don’t want to compromise on the performance.


If we talk about the specifications of the car they are as follows:


Engine: Type 2.0l four cylinder


Maximum power: 240 bhp @ 5500 RPM


Maximum Torque: 270ib/ft of torque @3500 RPM


Transmission: MMT6 Speed


It has a turbocharged engine with direct injection per cylinder.


When the project was launched by Dilip Chabria , he said that they were extremely ecstatic to present Avanti in the country as sports car lovers would really appreciate the design and quality of the car.


Initially, the company would manufacture 200 cars a year. They have also plans to expand its production from 200 cars to 2000 cars annually in the near future.
