Speaking at the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit, which started in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia today, Indian PM Narendra Modi spoke at length about economic reforms, and their intended results in India.
He said that the current climate of reforms were akin to a ‘way station’, or landmarks in the path of India’s economic growth. According to Modi, the reforms initiated by his government have led to reduced inflation, while at the same time bolstering the GDP.
He also said that his government is committed to bringing total transparency in taxation, with a stable tax regime, which will do away with the current ambiguities, leading to better confidence, thus ushering in greater amounts in India, realising the dream of ‘Make in India’.
