India Crash Out of Tri Series
India Crash Out of Tri Series
India crashed out of the ongoing Tri Series between India, England and Australia. They lost to England by 3 wickets.
In a do or die game for both India and England, the Indian batsmen bundled out cheaply after a good opening stand given by Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane. They managed a paltry 200 in 48.1 overs before being bowled out. It never looked like India would touch the 200 mark if it was not for the cameo played by Shami who smashed 25 runs of 18 balls.
Moeen Ali bowled well taking 2 crucial wickets
The wicket was not easy to bat on as was evident in the 43rd over when a comparatively full length delivery hit MS Dhoni right on the helmet and after a few deliveries a ball of the same length hit him below the knee roll which eventually got him out.
England too had a tough time on the wicket. Chasing 201 they lost their openers early and at one stage were tottering at 66-5 before James Taylor and Jos Butler rescued England’s wobbly chase to get them through to the finals.
England look to steady their innings after a shaky start
There was some cheer for the Indian fans when England lost a couple of quick wickets at the end of the chase. It seemed like India could make a comeback but unfortunately didn’t.
Barely two weeks before India start their World Cup campaign, there is a lot of thinking to do. Batting is India’s strength and the batsmen have failed, not just failed, failed miserably to perform in the tri series. They haven’t registered a single win in Australia this time.
Virat Kohli failed to score despite being in good form
Though there are some positives to be taken from this match as well. Ajinkya Rahane looked good with the bat and Stuart Binny bowled well with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 33.
Also, the whole tour to Australia has been tiring for the Indian team and now that there is next match is scheduled on 15th February, they would get adequate time to rest and analyze their mistakes.
The Indian fans hope that there team would come back strongly after the loss in Tri-Series and defend the World Cup.
WE WON’T GIVE IT BACK.
